Bolt 7.11.0 includes widespread color system updates in alignment with the Nationwide Brand Updates announced in July 2026.

This update-in-place approach makes it as easy as possible for consumers of Bolt to stay on brand, while supporting a centralized and consistent rollout across the enterprise.

The updated set of colors is available in Bolt's color tokens and background classes.

Color options have not yet been updated for components with curated color properties. These will be handled in a future Bolt 7 release.

Burnt Orange
Dark Green
Green
Light Fossil
Medium Gray
Ultralight Blue
Ultralight Fossil
Wheat

Deprecated values will continue to work in Bolt 7, and will not be fully removed until a future major release (likely Bolt 8, in 2027).

Color Status Migration Reason
Fossil Renamed Use Medium Fossil Renamed to reduce ambiguity with expanded Fossil colors
Pale Gray Renamed Use Light Gray Renamed for consistency with other Dark / Medium / Light colors
Cherry Red Deprecated For a replacement accent color, consider Burnt Orange (but review for appearance and contrast) Red accent risked being misused as semantic Error color
Mustard Deprecated For a replacement accent color, consider Wheat (but review for appearance and contrast) Numerous contrast issues and low visual appeal

The table below compares each palette token as it renders in 7.11.0 against its legacy value. Colors introduced in 7.11.0 have no legacy equivalent, so their legacy swatch is shown as a hatched placeholder.

Due to the large number of theme tokens, only those whose values have changed are listed in the table below.

The most significant change was to warning and onWarning, which now follow the same light/dark pattern as other status colors.
