When using the banner on background colors, ensure there is proper contrast.
When using images in banners, text may need to be embedded into that image. If text is included in an image banner, or if the image shown provides more than just decoration or interest, we MUST offer alt text for screen readers.
It is the writer's responsibility to write the alt text and the email builder's responsibility to code it into the email. Decorative images should be coded with null alt text (Ex. <img alt=" ">) so screen readers skip the image.
Messaging components have been reviewed for compliance with visual accessibility guidelines, but accessibility tool (AT) testing should be performed by those implementing them in code.
